The Le Mans 24-hour race of 2002 saw an historic win for the Audi Team Joest. RaceMet is proud to have been a part of the Audi domination of 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in 3 successive years - a feat never achieved in the world's greatest and most prestigious 24-hour endurance race. 2001 saw one of the weirdest calls given to the drivers. In the blue-sky'ed day came the call to come in for wet tyres. To quote Ralf Jüttner, Technical director of Audi Sport, in an Audi Le Mans special magazine "Last year we were calling our drivers from the pits to say we have prepared for rain tyres. And they said 'Why? It's dry out here?' ". Very true, but we were watching a monsoon proportion rain shower approaching. We called it in, the team reacted positively and the rest, they say, really is history! As driver Tom Kristensen calls us, we are proud to be 'the rain men' for Audi Team Joest.
